January 2017

Yes, I know it is the middle of February but this is how I operate!  I have a photo dump from my phone, however there are mostly videos on it right now.  We have been going to wrestling tournaments every Sunday!!!  It has been a long season with ups and downs.  Hard to know why sometimes Logan is a beast and other times he struggles.  He has however definitely improved.  He enjoys winning - especially getting first place.  He also has been playing basketball and that has been an experience.  It really sucks for the short kids, but he does a good job holding his own.  We have been trying to get him to realize that playing defense is more important than making buckets.  For him though, he is devastated if he goes the whole game and doesn't make one basket (which happens most of the time).
Annabelle has been working it in gymnastics.  Her cartwheels are amazing and she is getting stronger.  She went through a few coaches over the last six months, but we are happy with who she has now.  She is also rocking academics.  She really enjoys reading and trying to learn new words.  She will come to me with a book and wants to do it all by herself.  She struggles a little with decoding and blending, but has memorized quite a few words from just reading a lot.  She is also my little mathematician.  We were counting in the car today by 2s, 5s, 10s and then she wanted to know how to count by 7s, 8s, 9s.  I spouted off my multiplication tables.  We went down to threes and as she listened to me, she said - Oh I get it, you just add 3 each time and say the number.  Yep, my girl understood the pattern and then I tried to tell her about repeated addition and multiplication.  I'm trying my best to raise math nerds.
Johnathan is as crazy as ever.  We are still struggling with getting him to sleep in his own bed and stay there!  Let's just say this week has been trying.  He really likes to be snuggled right up to someone (me)!  All the kids are going to start soccer in a few weeks.  I am pretty nervous about Johnny!  Hopefully, the exercise will be great and he will be so tired at the end of the day that he sleeps through the night in his own bed!
AND...I have two kids with two missing front teeth!  So cute.
