Call me crazy

So I may just be nuts, but in order to gain seniority in my district these days I would either have to get a masters degree, a two year program, a lot of school and a whole lot of money or try for a single subject credential which entails passing a ridiculous test and taking a course online.  Well, I tried one subtest back in November and missed it by ten points. So I took all three sections this month and I am hoping for the best. I'll have one more chance in march if I didn't pass a section.  Today I just signed up for a four week online class.  Besides the fact the I'm practically falling asleep at 7:30 every night, I now am going to have to fit in reading and writing!  I'm hoping that somehow I will be able to fit in a good amount of time on the weekends and possibly use some of my sixth grade stuff...  So if I seam to disappear off the face of the earth for the month of February you'll know why.

I took some funny pics and video that I swear I will download from the camera soon.

Hello

No pictures tonight because I'm on the iPad, laying in bed :).
We had our first urgent care/er visit last Wednesday.  Annie and Logan both had a cold for a couple of days, but about mid-day Annie's breathing got ad and she was wheezing.  She used the inhaler and took a nap and them when I got home from work she was breathing faster, like she couldn't get a deep breathe.  I gave her the inhaler and waited to see if her breathing got better, but it didn't.  So, Cory and I headed to urgent care, she ended up with two nebulizer treatments and steroids.  The doctor said we may have to take an ambulance down to children's hospital, but it did get better.  So instead he let me drive her down instead.  Children's was a mess and ended up being a really long wait, but my girl got better and we were released.  She was super excited to get a Popsicle at midnight and then fell asleep on the way home.  It was scary to know that my poor girl couldn't breathe, hopefully we won't be doing that anytime soon.  I'm going to ask for a nebulizer for home at our next visit.
Robert and I enjoyed a weekend away in Vegas this past weekend.  It was nice to not have any responsibility for over 48 hours.  We danced, ate way too much greasy food, had massages and saw a sexy show.  Although it is hard to leave the kids I know it is good for Robert and I to have time together as well.
Other tidbits, these darn kids are learning and growing so much!  Annie knows most of her colors, she mixes up red and green.  Logan guesses at all colors, wondering if will get it or if he is colorblind like my dad and brother.  They love their kid guitars and are often singing and rocking out.  Logan hums all the time.  It cracks us up because we don't think he even realizes that he is doing it.  Lupe is also teaching them songs in Spanish.  One of their favorite activities right now is building and knocking down blocks.  They also enjoy riding their bikes, Logan is still working on getting the pedaling down.  They are doing amazing at going to bed.  That's all I can think of for now.  I'll try to post more often now that I can do it from the comfort of my own bed.

Tid Bits about Big Kid Beds

Things are going okay.  Naps tend to be harder than bedtime, even though the kids are tired they just want to play.  I think Annie's best record is 20 minutes before falling asleep.  Logan tends to take longer.  I have taken the divide and conquer method during naps.  Try to get one asleep and then focus on the other one.  Annie likes to have her back rubbed and sometimes likes to be sang to.  Logan doesn't want to be touched, likes to be sung to and will rub my face.  The current songs on their mom playlist is Baa Baa Black Sheep and Rock a Bye Baby.  We have designated Nighttime music that they like to have on at Naps and Bedtime.  Bedtime has been crazy.  They want to go sleep in their big kid beds but then once we are in there it takes them a while to wind down.  We read books and I rub backs and then I leave them.  It seems that they play for a little while and then after a few visits from Robert and I, they fall asleep.  However, on Wednesday night I went to my soccer game and Robert put them to bed and then checked in on them and they had both got naked, pull up and all for Logan!  Who knows what goes through their minds.  The kids have been sleeping in these last couple of weeks, which has been great seems how we haven't had to be anywhere at any particular time, but I am worried for next week.
Enjoy your weekend :)

Big Kids Beds!!!

So the crawling out began on Thursday!  There were no naps taken that day until 5pm when they finally collapsed.  I only let them sleep for a half and hour and then attempted to make them eat dinner - it was interesting.  The kids slept in their beds at night until Saturday and then they stayed up until 10 pm!  Their regular bedtime is 7:30.  So, Robert and I took one side off of the cribs and  made a big kid bed!!!  Last night was crazy.  I think they finally went to sleep around 8:30 after a lot of playing and opening and shutting the door.  We tried reading right before bed, turning on nighttime music, rubbing backs, yelling, positive praise for staying in bed...  I am hoping that it gets easier.  The kids do love that they can just hop into their beds and sit on each others bed.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Christmas

Christmas Night at Nana and Pop's House

I didn't get many pictures at my parent's house, mostly because when all the cousins get together they run around like crazy.  My brother brought their Wii and there was a lot of Just Dance competitions.

Christmas Morning at Home

The kids slept in on Christmas morning, probably will be the last time for that.  They had fun opening all of their presents and just kept asking for more.  They received bikes from Santa and surprisingly they fit on them (we do have short kids).  They looked very big on the big kid bikes.  They were very cute and got very excited over all their new gifts.

Christmas Eve

We had a wonderful time at Maama's house for Chrsitmas Eve.  The kids got spoiled like always!  Late they put out cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer.
