First Family Vacay

Robert spearheaded our first family vacation!  We went to Lake Martinez and had a great time.  We rented an amazing house and had good friends and family there.  The kids were so excited to go on a boat for the first time, fish for the first time and best of all had a TV in their room!!
Day 1: We got to the house around 5:30 and got settled in.  Robert's work buddy, Mike, and his family came over for dinner and the kids played with the pinball machine and pool table.

Day 2:  We went on Mike's boat, hung out on a sand bar and had a fairly easy day.
Going down to check out our private dock

House next door. We stayed in a little cut-de-sac with 5 houses and it was really quiet.

 Racoon tracks.
Day 3: Lis and Uncle Jason joined us late the night before and Robert picked up a boat for us to use.  We went on a little boat ride and then headed to the same sandbar as the day before.  The kids were thoroughly entertained at the sandbar and didn't complain once.  The water was freezing, but they didn't care.  Logan brought out his fishing pole that day.

Kids eating snacks off the back of the boat :)

Later in the day we went for a boat ride and just floating along with Mike and his family in their boat.  It was so incredibly peaceful.  Johnny feel asleep, Logan and Jason jumped in the water and everyone just enjoyed themselves.

The views were amazing.  The mountains were different shapes depending on what direction you were facing.

This crazy tractor floats in the water and digs canals.

How would you like to stay there?
Day 4: Uncle Richard, Jenika and friends joined us on the river and we went further up the river and found a new sandbar.  It was definiately not the family sandbar we had been at the days prior.  This was more of a party spot.  The kids still played and then we went back to the house early because all the Yuma family joined us at the house.  We BBQed, fished some more, played pool, hung out on the dock until the mosquitos ran us inside.

Day 5: We packed up and headed home.
It was nice staying in a house (got all our laundry done Saturday night before heading home).  There was plenty of space and no complaining from the kids.  It was just the right amount of time.  It was not quite river season so there were hardly any people and boats around which was nice.  We made some great memories and we decided we need to do more together.
