Sea World

 Last weekend I decided to take the kids to SeaWorld.  All the kids and I have a free pass and we were lucky enough to have Joan, David, Jessica and Lindsay join us.  The weather was beautiful and the kids had such a great time.  They are at a really fun age where they understand so much and get joy out of everything.

 First stop was the rides and then the one open splash part.  Logan was timid at first but they both enjoyed playing in the water. 

 We attended the Shamu Show and David and Joan took Annie and Logan to the front row! they got soaked and Logan said he didn't like it because Shamu splashed him in the eyes.  You can see them in the photo below because Logan is wearing that bright green shirt.

5 Months

 Hard to believe that this guy is already 5 months old.  It seems like he is changing so much these days. He has started to roll everywhere.  He learned how to roll from back to belly on last Sunday and has been rolling everywhere since.  I can no longer leave him and expect him to be in the same place.  I also have to be more aware of what is on the floor and teach the older two to pick up after themselves better.  Johnathan is talking a lot and is interacting so much.  He had his first taste of banana last week.  Annie didn't want a piece of here banana, so I smushed it up a bit and let him eat it off my fingers.  He loved it.  I bought the cereal to give to him but haven't done it yet.  I think I am going to have Lupe do cereal for lunch at her house to start and then add in veggies/fruits a little later.  

My brother let me borrow his fancy camera and I am loving the picture quality.  I told Robert I want a nice fancy camera for my birthday.  The pictures of Logan in the tree were ones that Derek took.  He said the Sony brand that he has takes amazing outdoor photos.  I am waiting for a nice day to try them outside with the kids.  

Johnny is not consistent in his sleeping habits and it is rough.  He can go anywhere from every 3 hours to as long as 7 hours!  Thank goodness for those few long stretches.

Weekly Update

I finally kicked the kid out of our room and had him sleep in his own room.  I thought it was funny that he is the only one that doesn't share a room and he wasn't even spending any time in it.  He did decent in his crib.  He is sleeping on his belly and was waking up screaming from his back every 3 hours at he beginning of the week.  He to better as the week went on and started to sleep for longer stretches again.  I do find him on his back tough every time when he wakes up.  He just rolled from back to belly today, so maybe there is hope for him to roll back over in his crib.  He is also going to bed a little earlier which may be helping.  Johnathan is really enjoying th exersaucer and can rotate around it and play with all the toys.  I took pictures today, I'll have to post soon.

Logan got sick last night and we woke up to puke in his bed and on he floor.  He was low key today and I'm hoping that he will be back to normal tomorrow.

Annie is turning into quite our performer, she loves to sing.  Sometimes she is in her own little world and doesn't realize how loud she is singing.

Both kids are pushing the limits and I hate yelling and making threats, any suggestions?  Robert is the enforcer and even he has had to get on the kids to listen and follow directions.  Plus, there are times where I think they find joy in bugging the other person to no end.  Annie has a violent side and will hit, push, bite if Logan is bugging her.  Logan bugs all the time on purpose - he is a great brother!

More yard work tomorrow.  Robert has done a great job of chopping down trees and clearing brush.  I love weekends with no football :)

4 month wakeful can suck it - for a lack of better words

I guess I never went through this with the twins because they never had a pattern of sleeping 6 - 8 hours straight at night before 4 months - in fact they didn't sleep through the night until 6 months when I let them cry it out.  Johnathan was sleeping wonderfully from about 8:30 - 3:30 and even 4:30 some nights, he would eat and then go back to sleep for another couple hours until we left the house at 6:30.  Now the little guy is waking up every 2 - 3 hours again like he is a newborn.  I am so tired!!  Everything I have read is saying that he is more aware of his surroundings during the day and doesn't eat as well because there is so much going on around him; therefore, he makes up for it at night!!!  He is also wanting to sleep on me or in my arms instead of in the rock and play or his crib.  I am hoping that this doesn't last too much longer - it has been about a week now and man oh man.  Also, the doctor said his gums were a bit swollen and he could also be teething.  Annie got her first tooth at 5 months - so he could also be working on pushing those teeth through.  Annie and Logan asked me if we had nap time at my school and I told them no.  They asked if we had beds to sleep on and I said I wish.  Logan told me he would buy me a big bed for school so I could take a nap after snack time - what a sweetheart.  Looking forward to the weekend where maybe I can squeeze in a nap :)

4 month well check

I took Johnathan for his checkup yesterday and had a good visit.  He weighs 16 pounds and is 25.5" long.  He is in the 55th percentile for both and his head circumference is at 40.5 which is only in the 12 th percentile.  He was a pretty happy baby during the visit and was talking and laughing with the nurse and doctor.  At one point she asked me if he was always this happy and easy going, I replied with yes thank goodness.  Johnathan actually had a couple rough days this past weekend and really only wanted to nurse and sleep on me, it was a good thing I had Monday off.  The big kids were really good and played with each other nicely.  Johnathan is starting to grab things with both hands and loves to interact with people.  The doctor suggested starting cereals at 5 months and then veggies at 6 months.  I am thinking of maybe skipping the cereals and just going to the veggies at 6 months.  I get overwhelmed thinking about making baby food again along with everything else.  I am hoping that I can hold off until spring break in April and then take a day to make a while bunch, hoping that he likes whatever I make.  We shall see.

Robert and I started to do hardwork and there is plenty to do.  4 acres and a piece of property that sat vacant for a year equals a lot of work!!  Plus we are trying to make it fit our taste.  Hopefully, we can accomplish the garden and then work from there.
